Activated carbon

Our laboratory in Wadeville is fully equipped to do numerous carbon tests e.g.:

• Particle size distribution (and d50)
• Abrasion resistance
• Gold activity
• Iodine number
• Volatile content
• Metal analyses - Au, Ca, Fe, Cu, Ni etc

Services include routine testing of plant carbon to evaluate carbon condition, regeneration efficiency etc. and then to report on issues where improvement will result in better metallurgical efficiencies. This free service enables us to warn customers of problems looming with regard to acid washing and regeneration efficiency as well as physical damage occurring to the carbon in a particular part of their circuits. By alerting customers to problems in their circuits they are able to take corrective action and improve gold recovery and/or reduce losses of activated carbon.
